After graduating from university, I stayed in Kathmandu for about four years, learning Nepali while living there.
Upon returning to Japan, I studied photography at Visual Arts Osaka.
In 2005, I began working as a contracted photographer with the Asahi Shimbun newspaper for three years.
I then moved to Tokyo, transitioning to a freelance career, and as of May 2024, I have relocated to London.

大学卒業後4年ほどカトマンズでネパール語を学びながら滞在する。
帰国後ビジュアルアーツ大阪で写真を学ぶ。
2005年から朝日新聞社で契約カメラマンを３年。
その後東京へ移転、以後フリーランスカメラマンとして活動する。
2024年5月から拠点をロンドンに移す。

• April 2004 - "Varna" at Nikon Salon, Tokyo

• July 2004 - "Varna" at Nikon Salon, Osaka
  Focused on the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, where diverse ethnic groups come together.
  The work captures themes of cultural and religious coexistence, particularly from the perspective of the photographer, who lived there during the critical events of 2001, including the tragic incident involving the royal family.
  This documentary series captures that historical turning point from a local’s viewpoint.
   

• October 2004 - "With N+" at Beats Gallery, Osaka
  In exploring "Where does human presence or spirit reside?" the photographer chose to use mobile phone cameras, printing reversed images on copy paper as negatives.
   

• December 2006 - "Shanghai" at Kōju Gallery (Group Exhibition), Kyoto
  This work documents the transformations in Chinese society as the nation prepared for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Shanghai Expo.
   

• March 2007 - "Tozai-Tōzai" at Café Dai Osaka, Osaka
  This series follows Japan’s largest traditional advertising troupe, "Chindon Tsūshinsha," capturing the people connections and interactions in the advertising industry from a modern perspective, while reflecting on how Japan’s chindon-ya advertising traditions, which began in the Meiji era, intersect with contemporary media.
   

• May 2012 - "Godam" at Sokyusha, Tokyo

• July 2012 - "INAYA TOL" at Nikon Salon, Tokyo

• August 2012 - "INAYA TOL" at Nikon Salon, Osaka
  This series explores social and cultural coexistence, with the focus on a local slaughterhouse as a place that encapsulates daily life, diversity, and coexistence of culture, ethnicity, and religion in Nepal.
  Inspired by the 2001 incident, the work has become a life project.
   

• September 2019 - "Aka To Kuro (Red and Black)" at Photo & Bar "nagune," Tokyo
  This series centers around vivid colors observed in slaughterhouses and city streets, reflecting the essence of life observed in daily Nepalese settings.

文化や民族・宗教の共生を主なテーマとして撮影。
２００１年に国王一家に関わる重大事件が起こり、歴史的転換点を垣間見て
その時期に生活をしていて感じた現地目線でのドキュメンタリー作品

「人の存在や心はどこにあるのか」表現者として模索する中、
それを表現する方法として、携帯電話のカメラで撮影した写真を
コピー用紙に反転して、それをネガとして使用してプリントした作品
 

●2006年12月「上海」　江寿画廊（グループ展）　京都
北京オリンピックと上海万博を控えた中国で、人々や街はどのように
変化していくのかということを短期間記録した作品

●2007年3月「東西東西」　喫茶大大阪　大阪
明治時代に始まったとされる広告宣伝業の「ちんどん屋」業界で
現在日本で最大の団体である”ちんどん通信社”の密着取材で
現代社会の広告宣伝と比較しつつ人と人とのつながりを追った作品

２００１年の事件が大きなきっかけになり、日々変化していくネパール社会の中で

そこで働く人々の日常を追いかけてライフワークになっている作品
